Amenities Found With Many Homeowner's Association Communities

If you are looking for a community to move to that offers amenities for you and your family, you will most likely need to find a home that is located in a neighborhood that has a home owner's association (HOA). The HOA manages the neighborhood and is responsible for maintaining the amenities and features found there. As you look for the right house to buy, you might want to find one that offers some or all of these amenities.

Swimming pool

Having access to a swimming pool during the warm, summer months is a great luxury, and the top benefit of living in a community with a pool is that you will not be responsible for the maintenance or repairs on the pool. The HOA will take care of all this, and they will pay for it with a portion of the monthly dues they collect from the homeowners in the neighborhood.

If you would never use a swimming pool, you may want to look for a community that does not have one. Otherwise, you would be paying for something you would never need or use.

Clubhouse

If the house you are buying is not extremely big and if you like to entertain, you should look for a community that has a clubhouse. A clubhouse is usually a large area of space the residents are free to use for entertaining. You may have to reserve dates in advance to use it, but you will have full access to it, and this is ideal for entertaining.

Park

If you have children, finding a community with a park might be on your list of top priorities, especially if the community does not allow homeowners to have playground equipment in their yards. With a community park, you can walk with your young kids to play on the equipment anytime you would like. The HOA would provide all the repairs and maintenance on the equipment and area, which is another added benefit of having a home with a park in the neighborhood.

Keep in mind that you will have to pay monthly fees to your HOA, and these cover the costs for maintaining and repairing the amenities found in the neighborhood. Because of this, you are likely to have to pay higher fees in neighborhoods that offer more amenities. If you have questions about buying a house with an HOA, contact a real estate agent today.
